Engine - Bleaklow
The
most famous (and prolific) wreck in the Peak I should think. Superfortress RB-29A
known as "Overexposed". She dropped the test bombs at Bikini Atoll.
Now at Higher Shelf Stones - Bleaklow
An
engine (one of many) at Higher Shelf Stones of the "overexposed".
13 crew died when it hit in 3rd Nov 1948 on a routine flight from Scampton to
Burtonwood.

Superfortress - Bleaklow
Here
you can see the extent of some of the "overexposed" wreckage. I would
say to all wreck hunters that you should leave this one until last. none of
the others has so much impact as this site.

Botha - Bleaklow

Skytrain - Bleaklow
This
one is in William Clough and was harder to find than it should have been. My
keen eyed wife Clare spotted it in the end. Quite a steep hike down from Higher
Shelf Stones.
Botha W5103 - crashed Round Hill Bleaklow Dec 10th 1941. See my Panorama
section for a larger picture of this site.
